Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Implements Price Reduction on Petroleum Products

Kathmandu: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a decrease in the prices of various petroleum products. The revised prices will be applicable across the country, categorized into three regions.

According to NOC spokesperson Manoj Thakur, the price reduction varies across the categories. In the first category, the prices of diesel, petrol, and kerosene have been lowered by Rs 7.50, while the second category sees a reduction of Rs 6, and the third category witnesses a decrease of Rs 5.

Under the revised rates, the price of petrol is now set at Rs 167.50 per litre in the first category, Rs 169 in the second category, and Rs 170 in the third category. Previously, the price of petrol stood at Rs 175 per litre nationwide. In terms of diesel and kerosene, the prices are now Rs 147.50 per litre in the first category, Rs 149 per litre in the second category, and Rs 150 per litre in the third category.

NOC has classified various cities within the three categories. Cities such as Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Birgunj, Amalekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, and Dhangadi fall under the first category. Surkhet and Dang are categorized as the second category, while Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal are placed in the third category.

Furthermore, the domestic aviation fuel price has been reduced by Rs 14 per litre, while the international aviation fuel price has seen a decrease of 115 US dollars per kiloliter. However, there have been no changes in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or cooking gas.
